Secure your Data!

TBNG Consulting works closely with our clients to ensure the security of their data at rest, and in transit.  Organizations, small and large, need to ensure their critical data is protected by a layered approach to security.  The risks are real, and can be seen in a recent Yahoo compromise where roughly 450,000 usernames and passwords were stolen earlier this month.  A hack of any nature is bad press for an organization, but it also appears Yahoo mistakenly stored this data unencrypted. If it turns out that Yahoo was fraudulent in their security policy, and did not handle their client’s data with due care, then Yahoo may be prosecuted.

The hack was from a group of claimed do-gooders, called D33D.  They were able to compromise several Yahoo webservers via SQL injection exploits, as well as other security vulnerabilities.  As we rely more and more on the web to run our lives and our businesses, small and large enterprises alike run an increased risk of exposure to web-based attacks. Network resources and web applications are vulnerable to malware, viruses, spyware, adware and the unwanted distribution of critical and confidential information through SQL injection, Cross Site Scripting (XSS), and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks.  It’s estimated that roughly 80% of all web applications are vulnerable to at least one known XSS or CSRF exploit.

IT security isn’t just about buying a firewall and crossing your fingers. The philosophy of securing only the perimeter and leaving the inside network vulnerable has become archaic. TBNG Consulting believes in an active security strategy, utilizing a defense-in-depth methodology by which a layered approach to security protects your organization against the countless threats discovered each and every day.

TBNG Consulting’s highly qualified engineers have the expertise and experience to make a difference in your work environment.  To learn more, contact us today at sales@tbngconsulting.com or at 855-512-4817.
